Aims to petition to End Daylight Saving Time
Governments really need to look at the option of doing away with daylight saving time. The reason for this is because the intended results of saving energy in the period the daylight saving time program was started is not working for our current state. The time that the daylight saving time was effective has long run out hence a need for other inventive methods.
There should be some requirements that should be met before the department of transportation responsible for the daylight saving time program makes its legal to run in any state. The regulations that should be considered include the places that many people worship, go to work, attend school, receive health services, the locations of buy and railway stations and not forgetting shipment of good and services. In most cases, not a lot of places meet these requirements and if they do only a little, hence the logic that this program is no longer beneficial should be clear to see.
All the bad effects of the daylight saving time program have a toll on many sectors of the economy but majorly the air transport sector. This is so because a change in time affects that one zone putting it out of phase with all the others hence ruining all the travel plans made, putting into consideration that air travel depends on timing. In most cases important people who would have greatly impacted the society and country at large get to miss their opportunities just because the outdated system will surely bring down their only means of travel.
In continuation when the daylight saving time program is put in effect many unusual cases of rising health issues begin to surface. The health problems being talked about include a rise in child security issues, increased vehicle accidents, increased work injuries and an ever rising number in heart attacks.
The rising number of child security issues is due to the fact that these kids now have to leave for school in the dark and leave late in the evenings, this leaves a large window for some dangerous people to take advantage of their weakness and vulnerability, especially girls. Its painstakingly obvious that accidents are more likely to occur in the early mornings when its dark than when its broad daylight.
Furthermore, it was been observed that during the time that the program was in effect, more workers report work related injuries, this is because they have to work more hours and in between some accidents may occur which may not have happened because they maybe more tired than normal. The fact that the program uses valuable time, funds and effort to be put in place and it doesn’t have any long term or short term effects for that matter makes it even clear that it should be scrapped off.
